Mr Aitch

1 9 6 7 (UK)
14 x 30 minute episodes

This Rediffusion comedy series was written by Dick Clement and Ian la Frenais especially for Harry H Corbett who starred in the title role as “Mr Aitch” – the owner of a run-down car park who had big dreams and wanted status and “lots of birds”.

Mr Aitch was one of the new breed – trendy, classless and switched-on. But while he poured champagne on his cornflakes, he still ate his kippers with his fingers.

When his manservant resigned, Mr Aitch interviewed potential au pairs while lounging sumptuously in his bed like he was judging a beauty contest.

The series also starred Norman Chappell as Mr Aitch’s chauffeur-cum-valet, Albie, and Gordon Gostelow as Lefty.
