    1 9 5 9 – 1 9 6 2 (UK)
    109 x 55 minute episodes

Charged with the welfare of delinquents, criminals and other social unfortunates, members of the probation service constantly find themselves dragged into the affairs of others.

This series depicted – in semi-documentary style – some of the typical problems faced by a team from inner London, and originally featured Philip Main (future Doomwatch lead John Paul), Jim Blake (David Davies) and Iris Cope (Honor Blackman) as its protagonists.

Numerous other characters were introduced during the programme’s three-year run, and the cast list changed frequently.

    Jim Blake
    David Davies
    Iris Cope
