Debuting on Saturday 11 February 1967, this ATV comedy series was subtitled “A Love Story in Seven Parts” and starred Charles Rameses Drake as himself. He also co-wrote the episodes with Donald Churchill.
This time around, he was looking for love (rather than a job as he was in The Worker) and haunted the Amalgamated Marriages Ltd marriage bureau rather than the employment office.
We knew, though, from the moment he showed up, dressed to kill, that he was doomed to disappointment and mortification in his desire to get to grips with the opposite sex.
Kathleen Byron co-starred as Mrs Proudpiece, the marriage counsellor helping perfectionist Charles to find the perfect mate.
