Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kids was the name of a world-famous rock band that travelled the world performing concerts and recording hits under contract for the World Wide Talent Agency.
In actuality, handsome Butch, brunette Steffy, commonsense blonde Merilee and screeching comic-relief Harvey (voiced by Micky Dolenz, formerly of The Monkees) were undercover teenage agents for the American government who thwarted crime and corruption when not busy being rock stars.
Butch was summoned to receive information about their missions from Mr Socrates (a computer voice who dictated spying assignments to the bell-bottomed boys and go-go outfitted girls) via a beeper on his ring.
Their dog, Elvis, joined them on their escapades.
The series ran on NBC between 8 September 1973 and 31 August 1974.
