Dr Michael Cunningham (Leslie Phillips) has a cushy job as Senior Lecturer in Anthropology at the “swinging” University of Hampshire and, despite frequently being in hot water for his casual attitude to work, manages to charm his way out of trouble.
Always on the lookout for opportunities to travel, courtesy of the job, Dr Cunningham is never far from the nightlife on campus.
Not even the expertise of Leslie Phillips – at his best with a vodka and passionfruit in hand and a pretty girl at his side – was able to give the programme the lift it needed to get out of its rut.
