“How would you like to be in the movies? One of Hollywood’s stars of tomorrow? From Hollywood, the entertainment capital of the world, someone will have a chance to be discovered with The Don Adams Screen Test. Now here’s your host of The Don Adams Screen Test, Don Adams”.

The syndicated game show Don Adams’ Screen Test ran for 26 episodes in 1974 and 1975.

Each contestant was teamed with a celebrity guest to appear in staged scenes from classic films such as From Here to Eternity (1953), On the Waterfront (1954), and The African Queen (1951), putting up with the intentionally schlocky production values in the hope of being chosen by a guest producer or director for a tiny role in a real production.

Helping the former Get Smart star and his Hollywood hopefuls with the scenes were such real-life actors and actresses as Bob Newhart, Phyllis Diller, Mel Brooks and Milton Berle.
