The Australian version of this popular American game show debuted on Channel Nine with host Tony Barber in 1977.
As in the original version, two teams of family members had to correctly match the most popular answers to survey questions.
Daryl Somers (pictured at right) took over as host in 1980 and he was replaced in 1982 by Sandy Scott, who remained until the Nine Network cancelled the show in 1984.
The Grundy Organisation took Family Feud to Channel Seven in 1989, where Rob Brough hosted it until its demise in 1996.
Nine resuscitated the format again in 2006 with Bert Newton (as Bert’s Family Feud), filling the 5.30 pm time slot vacated by The Price Is Right.
