This Sunday night summer family variety series from LWT starred Leslie Crowther and was filmed in outside broadcasts from various locations around the UK, including Stratford-on-Avon, Longleat Safari Park, Lord Montague’s museum of vintage cars at Beaulieu in Hampshire, and an airfield near High Wycombe.
Premiering on 17 July 1977, the eight-week series of fast-moving big music production numbers and comedy shows featured a resident team of singers Pearly Gates, Mari Gordon-Price, Carl Wayne and 13-year-old Lena Zavaroni, and actors Derek Waring, Derek Griffiths and Anna Dawson.
Shows also featured the dance troupe The Blondes and The Fellas and Alyn Ainsworth and his Orchestra.
The theme song – written by Lynsey De Paul – was released on a 7″ single by Carl Wayne.
