This Thames Television series debuted on Wednesday 16 January 1974 at 4.20 pm.
Based around a newspaper called The Weekly Bizarre (where the reporters were preoccupied with “The Great Rug Scandal”) the show featured Denise Coffey (who, in fact, developed the original idea for the series), Gerry Marsden (of Gerry & The Pacemakers fame), Peter Dennis, Lois Lane, Roy Hudd, Andrew Robertson and Vernon the cat.
The cast were aided by The Royal Flu Epidemic Orchestra conducted by Michael Lankester. Graphics and cartoons were by Jim Gask.
