“”O, My Queen”, said the Royal Sorceress to Hashipseth, “With this amulet, you and your descendants are endowed by the goddess Isis. With the powers of the animals and the elements, you will soar as the falcon soars; run with the speed of gazelles; and command the elements of sky and earth”. Three thousand years later, a young science teacher dug up this lost treasure and found she was heir to the secrets of Isis. And so, unknown to her closest friends, Rick Mason and Cindy Lee, she becomes a dual person – Andrea Thomas, teacher – and Isis, dedicated foe of evil, defender of the weak, champion of truth and Justice.”
High school science teacher Andrea Thomas (JoAnna Cameron) was on an archaeological dig in Egypt when she found an amulet.
It turned out to be a mystical amulet given to an Egyptian Queen by the Royal Sorcerer, Thuhaupee, which endowed its possessor with the powers of Isis, the Egyptian goddess of fertility.
The amulet provided great strength to the wearer, along with the ability to move inanimate objects and the power to fly and run at super speed.
After returning home to California, Andrea decided to use the powers of the amulet to help good defeat evil.
Whenever Isis was needed, Andrea would hold the amulet up in the air and shout an incantation related to the task at hand. She would then use her super-powers to capture criminals, right wrongs, and help anyone in danger.
As Isis, Andrea wore a white tunic with a short skirt and a tiara that allowed her to see beyond her normal vision. Her hair also increased in length – from Andrea’s mid-back length to hip length for Isis. Conservative dress, glasses and a ponytail were the “disguises” Andrea used to conceal her secret identity.
Rick Mason (Brian Cutler) was another teacher at her school (Larkspur High), while Cindy Lee (Joanna Pang) and Renee Carrol (Ronalda Douglas) were her teaching assistants.
A week after Isis was taken off the air, the character of Isis was brought back in animated form as a member of the Freedom Force, which was a segment on Tarzan and the Super 7.
The Freedom Force also included Hercules, Merlin, Sinbad and Super Samurai.
