Having previously been seen in cartoon form on Saturday morning television, The Jacksons (formerly The Jackson Five) hosted this half-hour CBS variety series, which first appeared during the summer of 1976 and resurfaced briefly early in 1977.
Eight of the nine Jackson children appeared on the show – brothers Michael, Marlon, Jackie, Tito, and Randy, and sisters Maureen (Rebbie), La Toya, and Janet (brother Jermaine had left the group to pursue a solo recording career).
Additional regulars included Jim Samuels and Marty Cohen, who appeared in various skits on the 1976 show and Johnny Dark on the 1977 show. Guests included Redd Foxx, Sonny Bono, Joey Bishop, Ed McMahon, Dom DeLuise, Lynda Carter, David Letterman, Carroll O’Connor, Betty White, Georgia Engel and Muhammad Ali.
Their father, Joe Jackson, was executive producer of the series with Richard Arons. Anita Mann handled the choreography.
