Essentially a prehistoric version of The Waltons, this Saturday morning ABC series featured the trials and tribulations of a Neanderthal family in 70,000 BC.
Korg (Jim Malinda) was the head of the household, Mara (Naomi Pollack) was his wife, and Bok (Bill Ewing), Tane (Christopher Man), Tor (Charles Morteo), and Ree (Janelle Pransky) were their children.
Some of the stories – which were narrated by Burgess Meredith as there was (obviously) no actual dialogue – revolved around the family finding food, dealing with wild animals and other tribes.
The stories were universally dull, despite the American Museum of Natural History in New York and the Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History serving as consultants on the series.
