The Lost Saucer was another 70s offering from the legendary factory of Sid and Marty Krofft.
Ruth Buzzi (from Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In) co-starred with Jim Nabors (ex-Andy Griffith Show and Gomer Pyle USMC) as a pair of lovable androids called Fi and Fum from the planet ZR-3 in the year 2369.
Together with their pet dorse (a hybrid cross between a dog and horse), the duo penetrated a time warp and landed their flying saucer on Earth in 1975.
Anxious to make friends, they invited two Earthlings – a young boy, Jerry (Jarrod Johnson), and his babysitter, Alice (Alice Playten) – aboard their saucer.
As curious people began to crowd around the alien craft, Fum became scared and activated the launch mechanism, sending the saucer back into space, where they became lost in space and time.
Following the dependable formula of just about every other Krofft show, the main characters tried to find their way back home while encountering all sorts of wacky creatures and places.
