This drama series from the Australian ABC told the stories of three members of a family from the small New South Wales country town of Willow Junction, who are serving with the 2nd AIF (Australian Imperial Force) during World War II.
The series, created by Colin Free, starred John Meillon as Corporal Cyril Kirby, John Hargreaves as Private Robert Kirby and Judy Morris as Nurse Elizabeth Kirby.
Cyril was a quiet and slightly bewildered fellow who desperately wanted to get into the war but was relegated to the cookhouse. He was constantly at the mercy of his brother Robert, who got Cyril into all sorts of trouble.
