20 x 30 minute episodes
When their parents are killed during a hurricane in the Bahamas, Taylor Reed (Mark Slade) and his younger brother, Tim (Johnny Doran), are unofficially adopted by Clancy Ames (Julius Harris), their rescuer, a retired lawyer who owns the Cove Marina in Nassau.
Stories relate their experiences as they operate the marina, and the adventures shared by Tim and his pet sea lion, Salty. Tim’s friend and neighbour was Rod Porterfield (Vincent Dale), the son of a Nassau bank executive.
While filming on location at Nassau in the Bahamas, 4-year-old Salty had his own suite of rooms by the pool at the former Montagu Beach Hotel which became the headquarters for the production company. His trainer, Ricou Browning Jr was the son of the show’s creator (who also created and directed Flipper).
The CBC series aired between September 1974 and January 1975.
