Sam was a specially-trained Golden Labrador retriever who partnered police officer Mike Breen (Mark Harmon) of the LAPD on tricky assignments.
The duo patrolled the streets of Los Angeles in a police car designated “Two-Henry-Six” and made much use of Sam’s speed, manoeuvrability and keen senses of smell and hearing in their pursuit of criminals.
Despite their record of performance, Mike’s boss Captain Tom Clagett (Len Wayland) had his doubts about Sam’s abilities as a crime fighter.
