When his wife dies, freelance photographer/writer Pete Karras (Alex Rocco) and his two sons, John (teen heartthrob Vincent Van Patten) and Endy (a then-unknown 14-year-old Leif Garrett) sell their home and buy a large luxury recreational vehicle.
They wander across the US enjoying a new and adventurous lifestyle while Pete pursues photographic assignments.
As the Karras men cross the country they encounter troubled people and help them solve their problems.
Although 13 episodes were filmed of the MTM (Mary Tyler Moore Enterprises) production, only 11 were ever aired before the short-lived series was axed.
