This syndicated spin-off from the popular Dr Kildare series (1961 – 1966) starred newcomer Mark Jenkins in the role of Dr James Kildare and focused on his years as an idealistic young intern at Blair General Hospital.
Dr Leonard Gillespie (Gary Merrill) was his gruff mentor.
The low-budget production was recorded on videotape rather than film. Episodes were filmed at MGM Studios in Culver City, California.
