Dr Lucy Drake (Lesley Duff) and Dr Fay Liston (Victoria Burgoyne) were united against the crusty old MDs in this six-part ATV comedy series as they teamed up to take over the Old Chapterhouse Surgery, where three family doctors – Doctors Freddie Fellows-Smith (Bill Fraser), ‘Biggin’ Hill (Richard Murdoch) and Roland Carmichael (Jack Watling) – were retiring after 35 years in the practice.
Fay was the flippant, bubbly newcomer to the village of Mitrebury, and Lucy was her more strait-laced and bookish partner.
