This short-lived light-hearted action/adventure series from CBS featured Billy Diamond (Billy Dee Williams), the most successful and wealthy thief in San Francisco who lived lavishly on the fruits of his illicit activities – until he got caught in the act by Lt. Samantha Warner (Janet Carroll) of the SFPD.
To avoid a jail sentence, Billy agreed to become an undercover operative for the San Francisco police. It was either that or give up his sophisticated lifestyle – complete with an English butler called Sylvester (Joe Maher) – for a drab, dirty prison cell.
The one concession he managed to get from Warner was to have his former streetwise partner, Ken Sisko (Ken Wahl) released from San Quentin to work with him again.
Double Dare aired between 10 April and 22 May 1985 and the network did not pick the series up beyond the initial six episodes.
