An alien named N-3 (voiced by Jeremy Hardy) arrived from the planet Holgon on a mission to study the people and places of Earth.
However, his superiors from his home planet – Cosmic 1 (Richard Vernon) and Cosmic 2 (Martin Wimbush) – had gained a false impression of the dominant species on our planet and sent him to Earth disguised as a dining chair (having assumed that a four-legged object was more advanced than two-legged humans).
Fortunately, he quickly made friends with a young human called Stephen (Ian Harris), who helped N-3 (or Henry as Stephen called him) carry out his mission to discover more about the curious ways of Earthlings.
Episodes found Stephen and Henry investigating topics such as transport, weather and clothes.
The Channel 4 series was written by Chips Hardy and John Henderson. The Henry puppet was created by Spitting Image founders Fluck and Law.
