Off-the-wall animation from Bob Godfrey Films (who were also responsible for the classic Roobarbseries) about a cockney feline given to fanciful adventures, usually inspired by a film (‘Captain Goodcat’ was a take on Star Warswhile ‘The Case of the Pilfered Pilchard’ was a spoof on Sherlock Holmes).
Also featured were Rambaba the sheep and Chris the rabbit (who sported a cardboard cut-out TV set on his head).
Drolly narrated by Godfrey himself, the low-budget series won a BAFTA for Best Animation.
