After her live-in boyfriend of five years (the “George” of the title) had left her, daffy blonde aerobic teacher Jenny Russell (Carol Royle) gets involved in an on-off relationship with a neurotic and wimpish crisp-addicted estate agent, Larry Wade (Simon Cadell).
By the third series, Jenny – who is pregnant by the departed George – finally agrees that Larry (and Napoleon the dog) should move into her flat and marry her (once Larry gets the decree absolute from his obstructive first wife).
The series ended with the on-again-off-again couple married and at the maternity ward with Jenny bemoaning “turning into a mindless blob who does nothing all day except eat, watch telly and wee a lot”.
This gentle, mediocre comedy from the BBC was written by Penny Croft (daughter of sitcom legend, David Croft).
