This animated BBC series was designed to teach English as a Second Language to migrants and featured a big green furry alien named Muzzy (voiced by Jack May).

Muzzy visits the Earth where he meets a gardener named Bob (voiced by Derek Griffiths) who works at the palace of Gondoland.

Bob is in love with Princess Sylvia, but the king and queen (voiced by William Rushton and Miriam Margolyes) disapprove of Bob’s relationship with their daughter.

Corvax the vizier (also voiced by Derek Griffiths) also loves the princess and does all he can to ensure Bob doesn’t stand in his way of winning her hand in marriage. It’s up to Muzzy to set things right and help Bob win the woman of his dreams.

A second series – Muzzy Comes Back – was produced in 1989.
