This short-lived BBC series – a lacklustre sequel to Rockliffe’s Babies– found hardnosed Met Police Detective Sergeant Alan Rockliffe (Ian Hogg) moving away from London to spend the rest of his working days as a rural copper with Wessex Police.
As a divorced alcoholic who read poetry, the new life suited him. But things in a small community were not as sleepy as he expected.
Rockliffe’s new boss was Detective Inspector Hoskins (James Aubrey).
Episodes were filmed in and around West Bay in Dorset.
