Tiswas was replaced in 1981 by The Saturday Show. But the replacement show did not fare well and the producers looked for a great idea to save it.
Unfortunately, they came up with a crap idea instead – setting the show inside a spaceship and renaming it accordingly. The Saturday Starship only lasted one season.
Tommy Boyd had been inept at best on The Saturday Show but here he really shone.
Not because he had got any better, but because he now had Bonnie Langford as his co-presenter.
