This Australian science fiction series is set in the 1990s with the story centred around Douglas Hardy (Robert Coleby), a computer engineer who was cryogenically frozen in 1979 after an assassination attempt by corrupt politicians
Hardy had discovered that politically rising star Dakin (John Meillon) – with the support of his ruthless supporter Boyd Mackiel (Vincent Ball) – was planning to limit individual freedom by introducing new laws.
Revived from his cryogenic preservation 12 years later (as medical science had now advanced sufficiently to prevent his death from the attempted assassination), Hardy sets out to seek revenge on those who sought to have him killed.
He finds that the world has moved on in twelve years, and has to adjust. He also discovers that his enemies now wield even greater political power and criminal influence in a State which is becoming more totalitarian by the day.
Hardy is forced to keep on the run to avoid being silenced once and for all. He seeks ways to become a public figure without putting himself at risk – appearing on a new television game show – and eventually gathering evidence against his enemies in an attempt to bring down the corrupt Dalin, now the Premier of New South Wales.
But Hardy ultimately discovers a greater evil – the Federal government – and is finally forced to join forces with the man who tried to kill him amidst the threat of nuclear annihilation.
