This early 1980s TV advertising campaign for the British Meat Marketing Board (who were clearly worried about the encroaching trend towards vegetarianism) presented cheeky cockney singers with impromptu oompah ditties detailing a plethora of exciting serving suggestions for a nice bit of British meat.
Suggestions included stroganoff, spaghetti bolognese, a curry, a barbecue, shepherd’s pie, stuffed peppers, and the ubiquitous roast.

“Wot No Meat?”
Wot no meat, wot no meat!
What about a bit of British lamb?
He could have had a lamb chop (chop, chop, chop, chop)
He could have had a casserole, casserole, casserole
He could have had a moussaka!
