Kim Cooper (Nancy Travis) struggles to balance the competing pressures of her work life and her personal life.
At the office, she has just been promoted to the position of executive producer of the hit TV police drama Blue Justice – which is something like NYPD Blue – and must handle the fragile egos of the actors while also dealing with the all-male writing staff – Gary (Chip Zien), Neal (David Clennon) and Rob (Matt Letscher) – working under her.
In her personal life, she has fallen in love with hard-driven district attorney Mike Ryan (Kevin Kilner) who rarely has time to see her.
Kevin Kilner was dumped after the first season because of the lack of sparks he produced with Travis. The show never recovered and was cancelled soon afterwards.
