In 1973 the American government established the DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency) to enforce the drug laws of the United States. Prior to this, the job was performed by various government agencies.
A quasi-documentary style presentation was used to relate the activities of the Group 9 Task Force as they battled the drug dealers, drug smugglers and the drug cartel.
Phil Jacobs (David Wohl ) was the group supervisor; Bill Stadler (Tom Mason) was the agent in charge.
Teresa Robles (Jenny Gago), Jimmy Sanders (Byron Keith Minns), Danny LaCroix (Peter Dobson) and Nick Biaggi (Chris Stanley) were all agents of the Group 9 Task Force. Julie LaCroix (Kelly Wolf) was Danny’s wife.
The series ran as DEA from September to November 1990 and became DEA: Special Task Force from April to June 1991.
