    74 x 60 minute episodes

Gordon (George Segal) was a whiny retired CIA agent and restaurateur who ran a Los Angeles-based detective agency for which brothers Mick and Joey Barrett worked when they weren’t surfing and chasing women.

Former policeman Mick (Rick Springfield) was more introspective and had his misgivings about Gordon, while his kid brother Joey (Yannick Bisson) was a free-spirited surfer whose impulsiveness tended to get both of them in trouble.

Assignments took them everywhere from Bali to Maui, with emphasis on beautiful scenery and sexy women in skimpy outfits.

Gordon’s sexy assistant, Fritz – who sometimes went on assignment to help Mick and Joey – was originally played by Cay Helmich. When she found out she was pregnant after having filmed only a few episodes, Diana Frank took over the role.

High Tide was initially filmed on location, mostly in the South Pacific, including New Zealand, Australia, and Fiji but when the show returned for its second season, production moved to San Diego.

The brothers now owned the High Tide Surf Shop on the beach in Venice, California, working as PI’s in their spare time.

Annie (former Playboy Playmate of the Year Julie Cialini) helped them run the shop but was gone by mid-season, replaced by a succession of attractive, temporary employees. Sam (Paula Trickery) was their sexy contact at the North Shores Sheriff Station.

Mick and Joey eventually sold the struggling surf shop and moved to Ventura, California, to try their luck as full-time PI’s.

A friend of theirs, Jay Cassidy (David Graf) – an estate agent and bail bondsman – hooked them up with accommodation in the guest house of the beachfront estate of sexy, wealthy widow Grace Warner (Deborah Shelton).

A number of their cases subsequently involved helping Grace or her affluent friends.
