Premiering in March 1994 and running for nine weeks, this chaotic BBC comedy sketch show for kids was a spin-off from the earlier series, Dizzy Heights, which starred Alan Heap and Mick Wall.
The Gristle Family – a trio of rubbery Spitting Image style puppets – comprised Dad Vic (voiced by Richard Robinson), Mum Vera (voiced by Steve Nallon) and their young son, Eustace (voiced by William Todd-Jones).
The Gristles had been given their own television series and produced a sort of amateur Family Television Channel, creating their own special versions of television programmes of the day and an ongoing horror serial entitled The Curious Case of Dr Van Rental.
