Jeff Fahey starred as Deputy Marshal Winston MacBride, a witty and cocky lone-wolf federal lawman who always snared his man (or woman).

As a US Marshal in the employ of the Justice Department, it was his job to guard criminals and protect witnesses, but his speciality – due to his great insight into human nature – was tracking down fugitives.

Although MacBride was a married man with two little girls – Katie (Kristina Lewis) and Molly (Carly McKillip) – his job took him all across the country to locations ranging from Brooklyn to Wichita.

Veteran actor Robert Mitchum made a rare television appearance in one of the later episodes playing MacBride’s father – and temporary partner on a case. Other guest stars included Ryan Reynolds, Pam Grier, Brian Keith and Valley Girl star Deborah Foreman.

Miami Vice star Don Johnson was one of the Executive Producers. Chief Inspector Robert Leschorn, a 20-year veteran of the US Marshals Service – was technical adviser for the series.

ABC decided not to continue the show after its first season and it quietly left the air in December.
