The All Night Café has strange powers and gives people a second chance at life – the opportunity to go back and relive a crucial moment that can alter their future existence. The café is located near the docks in Los Angeles but also has the power to teleport to any other location.
A mysterious man named Blackie (Robert Englund) operates the café “for a higher authority”. Fay Peronovick (Lindsay Frost) is the waitress, and Frank Novak (Jack Coleman) is the cook.
Fay had committed suicide in the water by the cafe when she was jilted and Frank had died when he stumbled upon toxic waste polluters. Both were given a second chance to right their wrongs by working at the café and helping other people through personal crises.
Blackie seems to delight in the circumstances that cause a person’s downfall as he views second chance lives via a special television set in the café. He can also send Fay or Frank into that person’s life to help.
The short-lived series was created and written by Wes Craven.
