Two middle-aged divorcées from very different backgrounds, art editor Bill (James Bolam) and freelance illustrator Faith (Lynda Bellingham), try to start a relationship despite all of the problems caused by her teenage children, Hannah (Julia Sawalha) and Joe (Mark Denham), and Bill’s devious ex-wife, Liza (Belinda Lang) who works with him.
Bill’s boss at the magazine where he works, Richard (Geoffrey Whitehead), is married to Marjorie (Georgina Melville) but having an affair with Liza.
This sitcom from LWT was adapted from a radio series based upon the real-life relationship of the writers, husband and wife Jan Etherington and Gavin Petrie.
Lynda Bellingham and Julia Sawalha returned in 1995 in the sequel series, Faith in the Future.
