Jim Henson Productions used live-action mixed with puppetry and computer animation to bring to life the world of children’s books written by Dr Seuss (real name Theodor Geisel).
Hosted by The Cat in the Hat (voiced by Bruce Lanoil), the series did not adapt any of the Dr Seuss stories but took aspects of each of them – and the trademark Seuss goofy nonsense style – to tell morality stories to children.
Performed on a computer-animated set, the show explored themes such as “sharing is good”, “follow your heart” and “keep an open mind”.
