George Lucas brought his big-screen, slam-bang epic Indiana Jones to the small screen in this ABC series. Though lavishly produced in eleven countries, the series lacked the sprawling, nonstop action of the films and, oddly, was didactic.
Indy was seen at three stages in life – sometimes in the same episode – as a child (Corey Carrier), a teenager (Sean Patrick Flanery), and an old man recalling his great adventures (George Hall).
In those adventures, the young archaeologist/explorer seemed to bump into every historical figure imaginable, including Pancho Villa, Sigmund Freud, Thomas Edison, Lawrence of Arabia, Norman Rockwell, George Patton, and Teddy Roosevelt.
Remy (Ronny Coutteure) was Indy’s pal and confederate. Indy’s parents were occasionally seen, and Harrison Ford (the movie Indy) made a guest appearance in March 1993 as the adventurer at the age of 50.
