Debuting on Sunday 5 July 1964, this weekly summer variety spectacular morphed from Big Night Out and was hosted by Mike and Bernie Winters from the stage of the ABC Theatre in Blackpool, with assistance from Lionel Blair and his dancers and Bob Sharples and the ABC Television Showband.

Seaside guest stars included Tommy Cooper, Shirley Bassey, Petula Clark, Lulu, Cilla Black, The Barron Knights, Jimmy Edwards, Diana Dors, David Nixon, Matt Monro, The Bachelors, Bob Monkhouse, George Maharis, The Seekers, Freddie and The Dreamers, Kenneth More, Dickie Henderson, Ray Alan with Lord Charles, Frank Ifield, American comedian Allan Sherman, Kenny Ball and his Jazzmen, Buddy Greco, Terry Hall with Lenny the Lion, Susan Maughan, The Searchers and The Beatles.

Mike and Bernie reputedly earned £1,000 apiece for each show.
