Miss Ealand (Norma Ronald) was a SHADO operative who masqueraded as Ed Straker’s secretary at the Harlington-Straker studios.

She was the first line of defence against anyone entering SHADO Headquarters via Straker’s office (which turned into a secret elevator down to the subterranean SHADO HQ).

Miss Ealand was replaced in two episodes by Miss Holland, played by Lois Maxwell.
