Filmed on location in Missouri, California and Kansas City, this zany spoof of American TV featured “on-the-spot” exposés, remote broadcasts, sensational interviews, public service announcements, station breaks, network identifications and a variety of faux commercials in the style popularised in The Groove Tube (1974) and Tunnel Vision (1976).
In fact, the film was marketed as “Boobier than The Boob Tube, Groovier than The Groove Tube, and trashier than Tunnel Vision“. Clearly, the production company (Naughty Boys Productions Inc) didn’t feel the fad was worn out yet.
Ostensibly broadcast from CBX (“the outlaw network”), segments included “Miracle Stoves,” “The Microwave De-Generation,” “Death-Breath,” “Saturday Night Specials,” “The Mexican Vegetable Genocide,” “Sheep Tips,” “Love Doll Dating Services,” “Cruising for Jailbait,” “Underwater Real Estate,” “Dr Klabbitz, Pioneer of Malpractice” and “Rolling for Wheelchairs,” a segment on bowling for the handicapped.
