Astrologer David Galaxy (Alan Lake) has a reputation as a stud and enjoys a well-heeled life. But one day he is visited by Chief Inspector Evans (Glynn Edwards – no doubt on his day off from the Winchester Club) and Sergeant Johnson (John Moulder-Brown) and challenged to provide an alibi for a date five years previously when he is alleged to have been the getaway driver in a robbery.
Galaxy provides an alibi but the two people concerned have since died.
He tries to obtain alibi’s from an MP he once had an affair with (Maria Parkinson) and from his friend Steve (Anthony Booth from Till Death Us Do Part) who entices Galaxy into seducing beautiful but frigid heiress (Mary Millington), having placed large bets that Galaxy can bring her to her first-ever orgasm.
Being unsuccessful in establishing an alibi, Galaxy receives a five-year jail term, the whole affair apparently a frame-up by an old enemy.
The gorgeous and notorious Mary Millington stars alongside a classic British cast including the legendary Diana Dors (Lake’s wife at the time), Bernie Winters (minus Schnorbitz), Kenny Lynch and Queenie Watts.
First released at the Eros cinema, Piccadilly Circus, in June 1979, this saucy sex comedy was filmed on location across London.
The interiors of Galaxy’s apartment were filmed at a private residence in a converted warehouse in Docklands, while the exterior shots were filmed at Winchester Court, Vicarage Gate, Kensington.
Mary Millington was found dead in bed at her home at Walton-on-the-Hill in Surrey a month after the film opened. An empty pill bottle and four suicide notes were by her bed. She was just 33.
