Ben Mears (David Soul of Starsky & Hutch fame) is a writer who has returned to his hometown of Jerusalem’s Lot in New England (abbreviated by locals to “Salem’s Lot”) to write a book.
Mysterious antiques man Richard Straker (James Mason) has also secretly moved to town, along with his “master” – Kurt Barlow (Reggie Nalder), a vampire. Before long, people begin dying.
Eventually, Soul figures out what’s going on, and sets out to kill the head vampire.
Some of the vampires are children, who come to their friends’ windows in the night – scratching on them with sharp fingernails and asking to be let in. Creepy, creepy stuff.
This made-for-TV horror film is based on a Stephen King novel. Reggie Nalder plays the ugliest vampire on the big screen since Max Schreck’s Nosferatu.
