This low-budget British thriller has Scotland Yard detective Superintendent Cooper-Smith (Stewart Granger doing his best Cary Grant impersonation) investigating a string of robberies and a murder which leads him to the estate of the wealthy but strange Emberday family.
Aristocratic Emberday sisters Trudy (Susan Hampshire) and Livia (Cathleen Nesbitt) share the peaceful surroundings of Emberday Hall with an order of nuns – but Cooper-Smith suspects not all is as it seems.
In fact, the bogus nuns hide melted-down gold bullion inside their own brand of pottery bearing the innocent sign of the Trygon.
Some of the location filming took place at St. Mary’s College in Twickenham, Middlesex.
