    Frijid Pink

Frijid Pink formed from the ashes of a covers band called The Detroit Vibrations.

Their version of The House Of The Rising Sun was a huge hit both in the US and in West Germany (where the band retain a dedicated following, despite never leaving North America).

Subsequent singles – also heavied-up covers – attracted less attention and the band began to fragment. The wheels finally came off in 1981.

Rick’s father, Clyde, was their manager and had the rights to the band name. When he died, he left the band name to Rick’s sister.

Happily, the name was returned to Rick and he reformed the band in 2007, with a new album released by German label, Repertoire.
