Vancouver radio personalities Terry David Mulligan and Bill Reiter co-hosted this short-lived comedy revue series from the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), premiering on 5 January 1969.
Mulligan was the straight man, lantern-jawed, good-looking, and hip, while the bespectacled and rotund Reiter tended to go straight to the funnybone.
The debut episode was based on the subject of Man and Machine. Subsequent episodes lampooned doctors, communications, transportation, and modern women.
Modelled on the British series The Frost Report, the show – aired at 2 pm on Sundays – featured local performers, including Micki Maunsell, Graham Teaar, Allan Anderson, Diane Grant, Roxanne Irwin, Graeme Campbell and Len Doncheff.
The show’s sketch writers were Bill Hartley, Tony Hudz, David Kendall and columnist/playwright Eric Nicol.
Mulligan and Reiter returned in 1971 with the similarly-themed CBC comedy, Pifffle & Coand in 1972 with Hey, Taxi.
