    Super President and Spy Shadow

Undoubtedly one of TV’s worst superhero series was Superhero President. The DePatie-Freleng cartoon series featured the adventures of James Norcross, President of the United States, who could draw on any imaginable power to ward off the enemies of freedom.

superpresident3Due to a cosmic storm, President Norcross could change his molecules to any form he wanted. He also possessed super strength, the power of flight, and an assortment of other terrific powers (though it was never stated whether he had the power to balance the budget, fix the deficit, or raise the standard of living).

The other segment, Spy Shadow, featured detective Richard Vance, whose shadow was independent from his body (shades of Q.T. Hush). The shadow had a life of its own, often interfering with Vance’s mystery-solving duties.

spyshadow4Unfortunately, the cartoon was not well received, and after less than one season vanished into the mist of time.
