1 9 7 3 – 1 9 7 4 (Australia)
39 x 60 minute episodes
A twist on the conventional cop dramas, English actor Rod Mullinar played Australian private eye Michael Ryan – a former policeman who now liked to do things his own way.
Whenever there was a crime or a problem too delicate, too dangerous or too flammable to involve the police, Ryan was available – as long as the case satisfied his stringent code of ethics.
Future Mrs Billy Connolly Pamela Stephenson played Ryan’s efficient secretary, Julie King. Luigi Villani played Ryan’s odd-job man, Tony Angelini.
Ryan was made by Crawfords (their fourth simultaneous drama, with Homicide, Division 4 and Matlock Police) for the Seven Network.
