After losing millions, social climbers Mark (Stephen Tompkinson) and Sophie (Josie Lawrence) – who are now jobless and homeless – invite themselves to live with Mark’s salt-of-the-earth big brother Clem (Philip Jackson) and his wife Rosemary (Frances de la Tour).
City wheeler-dealer Mark’s life has been dedicated to the acquisition of worldly goods, while Sophie is a brainless disciple of the Gucci life. This is in sharp contrast to Clem, an avid craftsman who lives in his own little world out of touch with time, and Rosemary, a stressed psychotherapist.
This summer season clash-of-lifestyles comedy series from Yorkshire Television had a strong cast and promised much but failed to impress critics or viewers.
