“Six times tougher than Shaft! Six times rougher than Superfly!”
Vietnam vet Bubba Daniels (Gene Washington) returns home to find his brother Eddie (Robert Howard) has been killed by a white supremacist biker gang led by Thor (Ben Davidson) for dating a white girl (Thor’s sister, in fact).
Bubba and five of his Vietnam vet buddies – aka the Black Six – decide to avenge that death, which leads to battles with townies, racist cops and Thor’s gang.
In the end, as flames rise from a ring of burning bikes, it’s hard to tell who was or wasn’t wiped out. But a final caption – “Hassle a brother and the Black Six will return”- hints at a sequel which never came.
The entire principal cast consisted of NFL players, including Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle “Mean” Joe Greene, who later starred in an iconic Coca-Cola commercial.
