Olivia Goldsmith’s bestselling novel is turned into a hilarious film by Police Academy director Hugh Wilson.
Hollywood divas Goldie Hawn, Bette Midler and Diane Keaton give sparkling performances as middle-aged Brenda, Elise and Annie – three wealthy New Yorkers who are reunited by the suicide of an old school friend who killed herself after discovering her husband’s infidelity.
With their own partners running off with much younger women (including Sex and the City‘s Sarah Jessica Parker and Showgirls star Elizabeth Berkley), the trio comes together to exact revenge and gain financial control, with Midler stealing the show from her two co-stars as the most deliciously vicious of them all.
